A delegation from UNICEF, led by the Global Education Director of UNICEF Headquarters, Pia Britto, met with the Sindh Education Minister, Syed Sardar Ali Shah.

Provincial Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah expressed his best wishes to Pia Britto on assuming her responsibilities as the Global Education Director.
“UNICEF’s collaboration with the Sindh government for the development of education is highly commendable,” said Sardar Ali Shah.
He highlighted that the biggest challenge currently is the number of out-of-school children, and to tackle the high dropout rate, primary schools have been upgraded.
The delegation appreciated the efforts of the School Education Department for introducing technical education at the school level in Sindh.
UNICEF also assured full cooperation in the restoration of flood-affected schools in the province.
