KP Police Officers in Civilian Clothes Involved in Riots Arrested at D-Chowk, Heavy Weapons Recovered
Sources have reported that six active-duty Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police officers, dressed in civilian clothes, were arrested at D-Chowk, Islamabad. These officers were allegedly involved in attacks against law enforcement agencies in collaboration with rioters.
The officers were equipped with tear gas, slingshots, and stones as they launched assaults on law enforcement agencies, according to sources.
Additionally, five more active-duty officers from KP, two from KP’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and three from KP police, were intercepted by law enforcement near Attock while attempting to flee in civilian clothes in police vehicles.
A large quantity of tear gas shells, slingshot pellets, and stones were recovered from these five officers, sources added.
