Thousands Protest in London Against Israeli Bombings, Demand UK Government End Military Support to Israel
Large Protest in London Marks One Year of Israeli Aggression on Gaza
A protest was organized by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign and other anti-war organizations, beginning from Russell Square.
Protesters, chanting slogans against Israel, marched through various streets, eventually reaching Whitehall.
Participants highlighted that around 42,000 Palestinians have been martyred due to Israeli bombings.
“When will Britain and other world powers take notice that Israel is committing mass killings in the name of defense?” questioned the protesters.
Due to the lack of intervention in Israel’s aggression, it has now attacked Lebanon, and soon Iran and other countries may also be targeted, the participants warned.
The protesters demanded that Britain halt its supply of military weapons to Israel and ensure peace.
They also called on the British government to play its role in finding a permanent solution to the Palestinian issue.
To maintain peace and order in central London, hundreds of additional police officers were deployed.
There has been a noticeable rise in Islamophobia in the UK since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
In the past year, nearly 5,000 hate incidents against Muslims have occurred.
