Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Visits Chinese Embassy in Islamabad
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, where he met with His Excellency Jiang Zaidong, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan. The Prime Minister offered his heartfelt condolences for the recent terrorist attack on a Chinese convoy in Karachi, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of Chinese nationals.
“The government is fully committed to identifying the culprits behind this terrorist act as soon as possible,” the Prime Minister assured, vowing that those responsible will face justice swiftly.
He emphasized that protecting the lives and assets of Chinese citizens in Pakistan remains a top priority and warned that any attempt to damage the strong Pakistan-China relations will not be tolerated. The Prime Minister also stated that he will personally oversee the investigation into the attack.
Security arrangements for foreign nationals will be further enhanced, he added.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani government for their prompt response and the immediate start of the investigation. He voiced confidence in Pakistan’s ability to conduct a thorough investigation, identify the terrorists, and ensure they are brought to justice promptly.
“We are hopeful that those responsible for this act will be punished as soon as possible,” the Chinese Ambassador said.
The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and senior officials from relevant institutions.
