On October 10, 2024, the 7th Pakistan-Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Bilateral Defense Industrial Forum convened in Riyadh. The Pakistan tri-services delegation was led by Lt. Gen. Muhammad Awais Dastgir, Chief of General Staff (CGS) of the Pakistan Army, while the Saudi Arabian side was headed by H.E. Engr. Talal Bin Abdullah Al Otaibi, Assistant Defense Minister.
During the meeting, Lt. Gen. Dastgir reiterated Pakistan’s continued commitment to supporting the capacity building of the Royal Saudi Defense Forces. In response, the Saudi dignitary praised Pakistan’s achievements in the war against terrorism and acknowledged its significant contributions towards regional peace and stability.
The forum engaged in discussions on global and regional security challenges, analyzing their impact on the defense forces of both countries. The rapid advancement of modern technologies was highlighted, and the need to further strengthen defense industrial cooperation in critical areas was emphasized. The meeting also reviewed progress in existing collaborative efforts and agreed upon new areas for future cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
