Pakistan Clinches the 6th Asian Taekwondo Open Championship
Pakistan’s Historic Victory at the 6th Asian Taekwondo Open Championship with Three Gold Medals and Best Athlete Award

**Indonesia** – For the first time in history, Pakistan’s national taekwondo team claimed the top position in an Asian-level international event by setting new records for victories. Held from October 14 to 17 in Tangerang, the 6th Asian Taekwondo Open Championship saw Pakistan clinch first place with three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals. Kazakhstan took second place, while Malaysia secured third. The Asian Taekwondo Union named Pakistan the best team of the event.
Shahzaib Khan of Pakistan was awarded the Best Athlete of the Championship for scoring the highest points, and Master Yousef Karami received the Best Coach award. In today’s -58 kg weight category final, Pakistan’s Haroon Khan defeated his compatriot Abu Bakr Siddiq with scores of 6-4 and 9-7, winning the gold medal. In the women’s +73 kg category final, Pakistan’s Manisha Ali triumphed over Indonesia’s Parmata Sri with scores of 4-1 and 8-2, earning a gold medal for Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Kim Koo Boong, Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation, congratulated the players, coaches, and team management on the historic achievement, stating that this victory marks the beginning of a new era for taekwondo in Pakistan. The federation’s president, Colonel (R) Waseem Janjua, CEO Umar Saeed, and their entire team’s years of tireless efforts have led to Pakistan’s recognition as the best team of the Asian Championship.
