Liam Payne, a 31-year-old British singer and former member of the famous band One Direction, has died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In a statement, the police said that they found Liam’s body when emergency services received a call from the hotel’s vicinity.

Liam Payne gained international fame when he appeared on the British TV show “The X Factor” in 2010. He then became part of the popular band One Direction, which included Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik.

After the news of Liam’s death, fans gathered outside the hotel in Buenos Aires. Due to the crowd at the hotel’s gate, the police had cordoned off the entrance.

A young fan of Liam Payne, Violeta Antier, told the news agency Reuters, “I was in my room when my sister told me that Liam had died. We didn’t believe it, so we came here ourselves to find out if it was true.” Violeta Antier mentioned that she had seen Liam Payne at Niall Horan’s concert just two weeks ago.

Online tributes are being paid in memory of Liam Payne.

Expressing her condolences, Hollywood actress Paris Hilton wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that she was sending her love to Liam’s family and close ones.

On Instagram, British presenter Dermot O’Leary shared a picture with Liam Payne, saying he remembers him fondly. “I remember when he auditioned for The X Factor at the age of 14, singing Sinatra and blowing us away.”
