Quetta: At a meeting organized by the Department of Forestry and Wildlife, Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister’s Assistant on Climate Change, emphasized Balochistan’s unique geographical significance. She outlined the government’s priority measures to combat climate change in the province, citing challenges such as rising temperatures, unpredictable rainfall leading to floods, soil erosion, and increased carbon dioxide emissions. Alam urged all segments of society, particularly the youth, to actively contribute to creating a greener Pakistan. She noted that wildlife protection is intrinsically linked to the preservation of forests. During the meeting, the Secretary of Forestry and Wildlife Balochistan presented an overview of the province’s performance, while Chief Conservator officers reaffirmed their commitment to environmental protection and shared departmental strategies.
