Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz holds a press conference at the Chief Minister’s Office.
Maryam Nawaz Denies Rape Allegations in Press Conference, Calls Incident a Political Conspiracy
“I am addressing the entire nation on a very important issue today.
Having understood the complete facts surrounding the recent events that have come to light, I can confidently state that the incident was entirely based on falsehood.
As a mother, this incident is very significant to me, and as Chief Minister, it is my responsibility.
The police received a report that a rape incident occurred at a private college, and a security guard was accused of the crime.
Since that day, we have been searching for the girl who was reportedly a victim of rape.
The incident was said to have occurred on October 10.
The name of a girl came to light who had been in the ICU of a hospital since the 2nd.
The mother of this girl said, ‘I have five daughters; hold those responsible accountable for their actions.’
This news circulated on social media, and false narratives were created.
A campaign was launched to incite the students.
I have come to the conclusion that after repeated calls for protests and unrest failed, another heinous campaign is underway.
Today, the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) is progressing.
The agenda of the PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) is that if the country progresses, they fall behind.
They have used children and made posts with the help of journalist touts.
I personally interviewed a girl named Mahnoor.
It was claimed that screams from the girl were heard in the basement, and the door was locked, after which rescue arrived.
However, rescue services did not even go to that institution that day.
The girl informed me that she made those statements at the behest of a teacher, even though she is not a student of that campus.
The security guard was taken into custody from Sargodha.
It was alleged that the CCTV footage went missing.
During yesterday’s protest in Gujrat, students were brought in who had no knowledge of the issue.
**Mahnoor, the student:**
“I said I didn’t want to give an interview.
A teacher told me to speak up for my rights.
The teacher stood alongside the anchor, who provided us with a script telling us to say that the Chief Minister should give us justice.
I never said I heard any screams; in fact, I didn’t say anything of the sort.”
**Maryam Nawaz:**
“There is no witness because no incident occurred at all.
They continued to search for the girl who was allegedly raped, but that girl is not a victim of rape; she is a victim of vile politics.
Daughters, mothers, and sisters are a shared responsibility.
A false story was fabricated regarding this girl.
A storm was raised on social media.
In one video, it was claimed that the girl had passed away.”
