CM Mir Sarfraz Bugti Unveils Historic Initiative for Skilled Youth Employment
Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, addressed the inaugural ceremony of the Chief Minister Youth Skills Development Program, stating that sending skilled youth abroad for employment was a dream. He expressed that this historic dream is about to be realized.
“Unemployment is a major challenge, and job opportunities are limited,” said Chief Minister Bugti. In these circumstances, the solution appeared to be training the youth and sending them abroad. The idea was agreed upon by President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, he noted.
Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, provided robust encouragement for this initiative, he added. The Chief Minister assured that merit would be ensured in the Youth Skills Development Program, urging all ministers, secretaries, and officials to guarantee 100% merit. He emphasized that an equal number of youths would be selected from each district.
“Youth leaving Balochistan should highlight a better image of their country,” he stated. “You are ambassadors of Pakistan; be a cause of good reputation,” said Chief Minister Bugti. He advised the youth not to fall prey to misguided ideologies and to adopt a positive mindset for development.
The Balochistan government is allocating resources towards the youth by reducing its other needs and projects, the Chief Minister said, ensuring that every young person in Balochistan will have access to opportunities for growth and employment.
“The dream of youth development is about to take a real form,” he asserted, mentioning the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program, which provides talented youth with opportunities to advance. The provincial government will cover sixteen years of educational expenses, he announced.
“We will bring youth closer to the state by eliminating bad governance,” said the Chief Minister. He reiterated that no job will be sold, and merit will be ensured. “We are providing opportunities for the development of youth,” he added, while also acknowledging the unfortunate trend of self-harm among youth.
“The decision lies with the people of Balochistan regarding who is right and who is wrong,” stated the Chief Minister. “The state is our identity; we must value it,” he emphasized.
“The path to development emerges from Balochistan,” he declared, noting that uneven development is an issue for all of Pakistan. He criticized the dissemination of baseless propaganda through social media that leads to confusion.
“On one hand, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization conference was ongoing,” said the Chief Minister, “while on the other hand, baseless propaganda about rapes was spread to incite unrest.” He urged the youth to adopt positive thinking and move forward.
