Unanimous Approval of Special Courts Establishment Bill to Safeguard Properties of Overseas Pakistanis
The Senate has unanimously passed a special bill concerning the protection of properties owned by overseas Pakistanis.
The **Special Courts Establishment and Overseas Pakistanis’ Properties Bill 2024** was presented by Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain.
According to the bill, cases related to overseas Pakistanis’ immovable properties will be adjudicated in special courts, as stated by the federal minister.
The new law will lead to the establishment of special courts, allowing overseas Pakistanis to present their cases via video link.
Both government and opposition members, including Senator Ali Zafar, fully supported the bill.
Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani remarked that this was the biggest demand of overseas Pakistanis.
Senators praised the government’s decision, calling it commendable.
Senator Irfan Siddiqui emphasized that overseas Pakistanis are a valuable asset to the country, highlighting that they send billions of dollars in remittances each year.
