Supreme Court Ruling on Diamer Bhasha Mohmand Dams Fund: Funds Transferred to Government Account
The Supreme Court has issued an order regarding the hearing of the Diamer Bhasha Mohmand Dams Fund case held on October 9.
The court has ordered the transfer of the funds available in the Dams Fund to the government’s public account.
Additionally, the Supreme Court has directed the closure of the account established for the Dams Fund.
To facilitate the transfer of the Dams Fund, a sub-account of the government’s public account should be opened, according to the ruling.
The government is instructed to take measures that would allow earning interest on the Dams Fund amount from private banks.
Funds required for the construction of the dams can be utilized from the relevant account when necessary, as per the order.
The court has disposed of all applications filed in the Dams Fund case.
