During his visit, President Asif Ali Zardari held one-on-one meetings with Turkmenistan’s leadership. He met with Turkmen President Serdar Berdymukhamedov and Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov.
During the discussions, the leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations and expressed a desire to further strengthen ties between Pakistan and Turkmenistan in all sectors, particularly in trade and mutual connectivity.
President Zardari reiterated the invitation for the Turkmen national leader and the President to visit Pakistan soon. He emphasized the strong and friendly relations between the two countries, which are based on a shared vision for peace and prosperity in the region and throughout history.
President Asif Ali Zardari was in Turkmenistan to participate in the international forum titled “The Mutual Relationship of Time and Civilizations: The Foundation of Peace and Development,” which was held on October 11 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen thinker, poet, and philosopher, Magtymguly Pyragy.
