Islamabad Conference 2024: Strengthening Dialogue on International Security
The Strategic Vision Institute (SVI) in Islamabad successfully hosted the Islamabad Non-Proliferation Conference 2024, a prestigious two-day international event that gathered renowned scholars and experts from across the globe. The primary aim of the conference was to foster meaningful dialogue on global strategic issues while sharing Pakistan’s policy perspectives on non-proliferation and international security.
The Chief Guest at the event was General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. The conference featured insightful keynote addresses from prominent Pakistani figures, including General Zubair Mehmood Hayat (Retired), Former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Lt. Gen. Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Advisor to the National Command Authority (NCA), and Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Sattar, Advisor to the NCA.
The conference saw participation from eminent international scholars representing leading institutions such as the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO RAS), Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS), Russia, China Institute of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), China, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, USA, Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), UK, and others from Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Shanghai University, and University of Birmingham.
This high-level conference not only reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to global non-proliferation efforts but also emphasized the critical role of strategic dialogue in ensuring regional and global security.
